Our internet broadcasting Radio Station helps the children in terms of their reading, writing and interview skills. The Radio Station is used for a variety of things, for example story tellingnand real life interviews with visitors to the school including Capital Radio's DJ Dave Berry and Penny Lancaster.
Children from Years four and five have been meeting up after school each week to work in the radio suite. The group have been developing their technical, presenting and interviewing skills. They have been coached by BBC Five Live Editor Will Cooper who told them, “Don’t worry too much about making mistakes on live radio. It happens sometimes. Just correct yourself and move on.”
Their hard work has paid off as they interviewed Raymond Blanc when he came along and opened our new teaching kitchen back in February.
